Villa Vista is a stunning contemporary villa built on a hillock overlooking the Weligama Bay in the south, surrounded by lush, tranquil wilderness.
Designed by world-renowned Pritzker Architecture Prize-winner Shigeru Ban, a leading Japanese architect, the villa has a striking modern design that emphasizes space and natural light. It is a multi-level, open-air structure composed of a series of platforms – accessed by stairs – designed to provide sensational vistas of the ocean, cliffs, and jungles at every turn, using the intersecting floor, wall, and ceiling panels to frame different views. The villa is a blend of traditional Sri Lankan architecture and modern style, built out of concrete, local teak, and coconut leaves. The living area is open and faces the infinity pool, which has stunning views over the bay and distant hills. A private beach is just a five-minute walk down the hill
